The World Within: III of IV (A poetic chain)

Prev.: The World Within: II

Only you will understand you best

and wholly.

It is not always so easy to understand
anyone entirely.
We were all made different.
We are each unique and special.
Our situations may bear likeness;
they are each unique, regardless.
Understanding is thus
a never-ending process.

Often, it is hard not to fear
that someone will not understand you
before you say a word to them.
It is perhaps why most of us
resolve to silence
or diversions.

We are bound to have varied feelings
and opinions about things and people.

Should you ever consider
to seek someone out,
someone you can talk to
about something you need
to talk about,
may you not lay upon yourself
the burden of expectations
of their understanding.
They may not understand you.

But do they listen to you?
Do they care about how you feel?
Or that you feel?
Do they judge you?
I think those to be the better questions
to this:
do they understand you?

Eventually, ever,
only you will understand you best
and wholly.
