Love (A poetic reminder)

You are stronger and you are

a better person

if you constantly choose to love…

Love makes a difference.
When you feel that you have
nothing more to give,
you can love,
and you will thus have more.

Love requires nothing more of you—
you have a heart big enough for it,
regardless of the pains, the betrayals,
the sorrows, and the scars it carries.

You may feel that your capacity to love
has run out over the years.
But is it ever really so?
You may feel a need to hate,
a right to, some justification, perhaps.
But hate does take so much more
from you than any reasons for it.

If you can love
when you are least expected to,
you gain more.
The love in your heart
heals you and builds you up.

And because of the love in your heart,
your soul bears no unnecessary burdens—
no bitterness, no hate, no looping rage.
You may lose the desire for revenge,
or the desire to fight or fight back,
but you will not lose yourself.
You thus win.
You gain.
You move on.

You are stronger and you are
a better person
if you constantly choose to love.
May you find all the reasons to,
even though you need not one.

      1. It does take much strength and courage. But I believe it is not impossible ☺ it is easier to love than to hate, revenge, or fight back, even when those feel more rewarding. But undeniably, it also takes a lot to be able to love when you would otherwise not
