My Thoughts, My Feelings

   My Thoughts, My Feelings

The day is fresh,
it is new,
it is alive,
as I am.
I carried to bed,
my tons of thoughts.
I lay in bed
with a troubled heart,
a bleeding heart.
I shut my eyes,
with little hope
of waking up fine.
But as I rise,
I greet the day
as fresh, as new, as alive.
I ought to choose afresh, anew.
I ought to choose life,
every second that I draw breath.
I ought to appreciate
such second chances
in the rise,
and make the most
of my fleeting seconds.
I ought to try again,
and hope again,
for my beating heart,
for my dear mind.
For I am greater than
My thoughts, my feelings.
