There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle- Albert Einstein

A friend recently asked me how life has been. At first, I didn’t know what to say. The question actually sounded funny. At first. Because I didn’t feel that there was anything worth saying. When asked to put it in the easiest way I could, I said, “It’s been hard… but it’s been life.”

It is sad that this is what we have to settle for. At some point. Life’s nature we call it. Believe in something. They say. For he who believes in nothing is a fool.

I wish our hearts were slipperier than our minds, so that we would choose what to hold on to; our minds more open, and more… receptive. To reasoning. So that we would seek what is right, and understand what isn’t.

I wish… that the need to make sense of things, didn’t overcome the urge to seek it, and find that reason. Answers. For he who asks knows one more than he who doesn’t. And is wearier.

But then, what comes after an answer? A smile? Relief? Or a worse cage? I heard growing up… cowards live longest. Truly, woe unto we who are hard to believe, for everything beautiful is left unseen. Eyes ruin things, just like answers do.

It should always remain a mystery. And it feels right, so. So that you keep searching, and keep living. Stumbling on “what-ifs.” It keeps you going. With rooted beliefs, which you live on. Sense, we call it. Reason. And indeed, it’s a sweet tune. A hypnotic tune. Whence you’d rather never wake.

Life is hard. But it’s life. A beautiful mystery. Hard as it gets, we have to live on. We are here already. Let’s live till we can’t.
